Seeing cash flow on one screen: banks, loans, cheques and cards

When balances sit at the banks, loan plans in spreadsheets, cheques in a drawer and card instalments in statements, "will the coming weeks be covered" goes unanswered. What a single view shows and how it is built.

The question of the finance manager and the business owner is simple: how much money do I have today, what will I pay and what will I collect in the coming weeks? In most businesses the answer sits in different places: balances on the banks' screens, loan plans in a spreadsheet, cheques in the portfolio, card instalments in statements.

Why scattered information is expensive

  • A shortfall is noticed as the payment day approaches, when options have narrowed.
  • The same obligation may sit in two places with different amounts: what the bank collects and the plan in Logo may not agree.
  • Foreign currency items stay in their own currency; seeing the total takes a calculation.
  • Cheques and notes look like balance but are items with a due date, an endorsement status and a counterparty.

A cheque is not a balance, it is an item with a due date

Under the Turkish Cheque Law, a cheque that has funds behind it is paid when presented to the drawee bank; if there are no funds, the bank marks it as unpaid [1]. So a cheque in the portfolio should be tracked as an item with a due date and a status: in portfolio, sent for collection, endorsed or collected.

Each item in its own currency, the total in the unit you choose

A business may have lira, dollar and euro accounts and a foreign currency loan. In a single view every item stays in its own currency; the total position is calculated in the currency you choose, at the Central Bank of the Republic of Türkiye rate [2].

What iyibir Finance brings together

iyibir Finance is integrated with Logo Edge; data read from Logo meets what comes from the banks in the same wallet. The wallet shows the net financial position: assets minus debt.

  • Banks and cash boxes: next to each transaction its status in Logo and the matched account; cash boxes come from Logo.
  • Cheques and notes: a status board and a due-date calendar, the endorsement chain, drawer concentration and bounced-cheque history.
  • Bank loans: remaining principal, next instalment and progress on one card. The loan is read from Logo, from the bank and from the payment plan document; the three check each other. On a foreign currency loan the exchange rate effect is visible.
  • Company credit cards: bank, last four digits, limit, statement day and last payment date; instalments show as load on coming months.
  • Leasing and guarantees: the rent day and the guarantee letter due date appear in the cash forecast.

On top of these sits the 13-week cash flow. It is built from Logo due dates, the cheque portfolio, loan, card and leasing plans, and the tax and payroll calendar. You write the scenario as a sentence. If a tight week appears, the financing suggestion looks first at your own resources (shifting a payment, foreign currency, overdraft, cheques), then at a loan; all are ranked by estimated cost. Only you start an application.

How Logo data arrives

It runs in iyibir Cloud and connects to Logo Edge with the iyibir PaaS Agent. Your Logo database is not opened to the internet; the iyibir PaaS Agent makes a single outbound connection. Every entry that goes to Logo goes with your approval.

What to ask when evaluating a view

  • Are banks, loans, cheques, cards and leasing shown in the same place and with the same date?
  • Is each item in its own currency, and at which rate is the total calculated?
  • Is there a due-date calendar, with payments and collections of the coming weeks shown separately?
  • Can you see the source of a figure (Logo, bank, document) by clicking it?
  • Is it easy to change the scenario and see the result?
